For Creative Enterprises project, we were put into groups and then we were given a client and a question which we had to answer. My groups client was Cuba Dupa. Cuba Dupa is a “Festival of the Street – one of the most vibrant and creative events on the Wellington calendar, traditionally held on the last weekend of summer.” The question posed to us is “How can design increase participation and enhance the CubaDupa experience?”
The idea is that the user will be able to login in or sign up. They can view the map, the schedule, make masks, view masks AR, view saved masks, upload them to the library for others to use and see and view other trending designs.
The idea behind a QR code is to create an image that can be scanned by any modern-day smartphone (or a QR reader application) and then translates it into something more meaningful. Often they are used to contain web address information and links but they can be used to direct smartphone users to a multitude of other media too (e.g. videos, images etc).
The point of a QR code is to simplify the process of accessing a web address, meaning that people won’t have to type in the web address into their smartphone.
A QR code works in the same way as a barcode at the supermarket. It’s an encoded piece of data. It is a machine-scannable image that can instantly be read using a smartphone camera. Every QR code consists of a number of black squares and dots which represent certain pieces of information. Your smartphone scans this code and translates that information into something that can be easily understood by us.
I wanted to create a QR code for myself, using GOQR.me I was able to easily create one. I have linked one to our blog -
